Berks County, PA -  Amity Township police are trying to determine who set a white ferret on fire on Halloween night, Police Chief Andrew Kensey said Friday.
A resident in the 200 block of Griffith Drive found a burning ferret just before 8 p.m. along Lake Drive, near Park Lane, the chief said.
"We don't know if it was deceased before or after it was set on fire," he said. "But whatever happened, it was egregious. It's sick no matter how you look at it. It's not a nice thing to do to animals. We all have animals."
Kensey said officers are interviewing residents who live in the area where the ferret was found.
"We do not have any suspects, a video or a motive," Kensey said.
Anyone with information on the ferret's owner or the person responsible is asked to contact police at 610-689-6002.
