Doggie Day competition gets tails wagging
Tilden Township, PA -
Indian Fort Inn in Tilden Township held a Doggie Day Competition on Sunday.
The event, meant to highlight the restaurant's openness to dogs and their owners in its 45-seat outdoor patio area, went very well, according to manager Sandra Bixler.
"We were very pleased with it," Bixler said.
Games included a talent show, a stay-command competition during which owners backed up and the dog who stayed the longest won and a timed team race - two dogs and two owners per team who ran separately around the inn with times recorded on a stopwatch.
The beauty pageant fell through because only one of the 10 dogs who came wore a tutu and it left early, Bixler said.
The event at the inn, at 1343 Hex Highway, Hamburg, drew people from Schuylkill County and Myerstown, she said.
