July 22 Humane Society of Berks County Pints for Pups
The Humane Society of Berks County will hold its annual Pints for Pups event Saturday, July 22, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Jim Dietrich Park in Muhlenberg Township. All proceeds benefit Humane Pennsylvania programs and services for animals in Berks and Lancaster counties. Tickets are available online now. Prices range from $10 per ticket for children ages 6 to 20 (nonalcoholic beverages and picnic-style buffet), $20 per ticket for designated driver and one leashed, friendly dog (nonalcoholic beverages, picnic-style buffet and pint glass), $40 per ticket advance purchase ($50 at the gate) for general admission and one leashed, friendly dog (beer tasting, nonalcoholic beverages, picnic-style buffet and pint glass), and $75 per ticket VIP (early admission at 4 p.m., beer tasting, nonalcoholic beverages, picnic-style buffet, pint glass and T-shirt). Children under age 5 are admitted free when accompanied by an adult.
July 23 Free vaccine and microchip clinic
The Animal Rescue League of Berks County is collaborating with Exeter
Veterinary Hospital and the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Paws for a
Cause, a free vaccine clinic for dogs on Sunday, July 23, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
at the hotel, 701 Penn St., Reading.
A limited number of rabies and
distemper vaccines will be provided for dogs on a first-come, first-served basis. The first 30 dogs will receive a free microchip.
Aug. 12 Meet and Greet the Goldens
The Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue
will hold its monthly Meet & Greet the Goldens
at its Golden
Gateway facility, 60 Vera Cruz road, Reinholds, PA 17569 on Saturday, Aug. 12, from 10 a.m. to noon. Come out to meet the golden
retrievers, Labrador retrievers, goldendoodles and Labradoodles that are
available for adoption. Staff is on hand to answer all questions, and
food is available for purchase. There is no admission charge and DVGRR
requests no photographs be taken. For more information, contact Inza

Aug. 27 One by One Cat Rescue Annual Bags & Baskets BingoOne by One Cat Rescue, Alsace Township, will hold its Annual Bags & Baskets Bingo Sunday, 27, 2017, at the Leesport Farmers Market, 312 Gernant's Church Road, Leesport, PA 19533 (Ontelaunee Township). Doors open at noon and bingo begins at 1 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Purchase tickets online in advance for $21 and pick them up at the door or pay $22 each to have them mailed to you. There will be raffles and food available for purchase. Bring a donation of Fancy Feast or Friskies canned cat food, paper towels, small trash bags (4 & 13 gallon) or small paper plates and be entered into a special prize drawing.
