July 23 Pints for Pups
Humane Pennsylvania
, parent company of the Humane Society of Berks County and the Humane League of Lancaster will hold its annual Pints for Pup event Saturday, July 23, 2016 at its 11th and Bern streets campus in Reading. There will be a big-top 25-foot-tall tent between the Humane Society of Berks County and the new Humane Pennsylvania Headquarters and Humane Veterinary Hospitals Reading. There will be more than 75 beers to sample and music provided by Dibbs Preston and the Detonators. Tickets are $40 in advance and $50 the day of the event. VIP tickets are $75, advance purchase only. Designated driver tickets are $20. All ticket holders 21 and older receive a Pints for Pups logo glass. Purchase tickets at www.humanepa.org.

July 23 Yappy Hour to benefit ARL
Bob Mierzejewski and Dave Roche are hosting a Yappy Hour on Sunday, July 24, from 2 to 6 p.m. at
Divots Bar and Grill, 12 Village Center Drive, Flying Hills, PA 19607 (Cumru Township). There will be live music by Bettenroo, raffles, door prizes and a pet supply drive to benefit the Animal Rescue League of Berks County. Adoptable dogs will be onsite. Swimming is available for a fee at the Flying Hills Pool.

July 23 Low-cost vaccine clinic at the ARL
The Animal Rescue League of Berks County will hold its monthly low-cost vaccine clinic Saturday, July 23, 2016, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at its facility, 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508 (Cumru Township). Rabies $15, distemper $20, bordetella (kennel cough) $20, Lyme $25, microchip $25. Limited to the first 100 animals only.

July 30 Putts for Pups to benefit ARL
Bistro on Bridge is holding its inaugural Putts for Pups Golf Tournament Saturday, July 30, at Willow Hollow Golf Club, 619 Prison Road, Leesport, PA (Bern Township) to benefit the
Animal Rescue League of Berks Count. Registration is at noon, with tee-off at 1:30 p.m. Cost is $100 and includes a golf cart. Shotgun start for an 18-hole team scramble. On-course refreshments and snacks will be provided by Uncle B's BBQ with a portion of proceeds going to the ARL. There will be contests and prizes and all participants receive a gift bag. August 13: Rabies and low-cost vaccine clinic
Adorable Pets will hold a rabies and low-cost vaccine clinic Sunday, August 13, in the meeting room at Leesport Farmer's Market, 312 Gernants Church Rd, Leesport, PA 19533 (Ontelaunee Township), from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dog or cat rabies vaccine (three-year) just $27, one-year rabies shot $18, parvo distemper (DHLPP) $22, bordetella (to protect against kennel cough) $21, heartworm check $29 and more. Plus, pay $6 each for nail clippings, ear cleanings or teeth brushing. Call 484-769-8926 with any questions.

The Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue will hold its monthly Meet & Greet the Goldens at its Golden Gateway facility, 60 Vera Cruz road, Reinholds, PA 17569 on Saturday, Aug. 13,  from 10 a.m. to noon. Come out to meet the dogs that are available for adoption. Staff is on hand to answer all questions, and food is available for purchase. Aug. 19 Painting Party with Nettie Price to benefit the ARL
A Painting Party will be held Friday, Aug. 19, at Ridgewood Canine Camp, Route 724 and East Point Drive, Birdsboro, PA 19508 (Cumru Township) from 7 to 9 p.m. to benefit the Animal Rescue League of Berks County. Artist Nettie Price will offer step-by-step instruction for painting sparkling poppies. cost is $50 and includes all painting supplies, wine and cheese. Space is limited to 30 participants.


Aug. 28 Baskets & Bags Bingo
One By One Cat Rescue is holding its annual Baskets & Bags Bingo Sunday, Aug. 28, at the Leesport Farmers Market, 312 Gernants Church Road, Leesport, PA 19533 (Ontelaunee Township). Doors open at noon and games begin at 1 p.m. There will be 20 games of bingo and five specials. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. Call Linda at 610-413-1294 to reserve tickets. There will be food available for purchase, door prizes and raffle items. Bring a donation of one of the following to be entered in a drawing for a special prize: Fancy Feast or Friskies canned cat food, paper towels, small trash bags (4 and 13 gallon) and small paper plates.

Sept. 24 Walk for the Animals
Humane Pennsylvania, parent company of the Humane Society of Berks County and the Humane League of Lancaster will hold its annual Walk for the Animals on Saturday, Sept. 24, at Jim Dietrich Park in Muhlenberg Township. Registration begins at 10 a.m. and the walks starts at 11 a.m. Walktoberfest runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event is free, but walkers who register get a commemorative T-shirt.
