July 18 Canine Culture Club Chillin' and Grillin'
Awesome Dawgs Dog Training LLC's Canine Culture Club will be a "Chillin' and Grillin' " theme for this Friday, July 18. It is free and leashed, well-mannered dogs are welcome to attend. The play park also will be open for free to dogs that are pre-registered. Dogs that use the part must also have proof of vaccinations. The event will be held 6 to 9 p.m. at the training facility, 3052 Pricetown Road, Temple, PA 19560 (Alsace Township).

July 19 - July 26 Godfrey's Welcome to Dogdom 10th Anniversary celebration
Godfrey's Welcome to Dogdom, a canine specialty store and facility, 4267 New Holland Road, Mohnton PA 19540 (Route 625 in Brecknock Township), is celebrating its 10th anniversary July 19 through July 26. There will be free goodie bags for customers all week. On July 19 Neil McMillin, a professional caricature artist, will be onsite to draw visitors' pets for a fee. Black-and-white head-only drawings will be $8 per head, color head-only drawings are $18 per head. Full cartoon body and background can be added for $5. The drawings are on 11-inch by 17-inch paper. There will be free refreshments Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be special sales throughout the week. On July 26 there will be a open house a the Canine Wellness and Conditioning Center from 2 to 4 p.m. There will be a drawing for a free FitPaws Donut and holder with a private lesson.

July19 Christmas in July
The Animal Rescue League of Berks County's Grey Muzzle Foster Program will benefit from a Christmas in July event being held Saturday, July 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Ridgewood Canine Camp, Route 724 and East Point Road in Robeson Township (It's less than 1 mile from the ARL shelter). There will be home party vendors, a bake sale, raffles and adoptable dogs. The Grey Muzzle Foster Program helps senior and special-needs dogs.

July 25 and 26 Jammin' for the Animals 6
Jammin' for the Animals 6 will be held Friday and Saturday, July 25 and 26, at the Kempton Music Center, 83 Community Drive, Kempton. Gates open at 2 p.m. and music starts at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Grounds open at 10 a.m. on Saturday. Tickets are $50 in advance to $65 at the gate. More than 15 musical acts are scheduled. See www.jamminfortheanimals.com for lineup. There will be a canine disc demonstration, onsite camping, glass blowing, henna and face painting, workshops: juggling, hooping, tie-dyeing, jewelry and pottery; piercing and tattooing seminars, a Chinese auction, children's acitivities and much more. All proceeds benefit the Humane Society of Berks County .

July 26 Pints for Pups
The Humane Society of Berks County will hold its annual Pints for Pups fundraiser Saturday, July 26, at Reading Liederkranz, 143 Spook Lane, Reading, PA 19606 (Lower Alsace Township). The VIP hour is 3 to 4 p.m. and general admission is from 4 to 7 p.m. Leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome to attend. The VIP passes are $75 per person and include the special one-hour tasting with the brewers and must be purchased by July 25 at 5 p.m. General admission tickets are $40 if purchased in advance, and $50 at the gate. Admission is for one human and one friendly dog and all will receive a Pints for Pups glass with Adrienne Trafford artwork on it. VIP triple passes are also available for $175 per person and entitle the purchaser to admission to the Berks' Pints for Pups event, the Phoenixville Pints for Pups to be held Aug. 9 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Broad and Main streets parking lot and a third Pints for Pups event to be held in October in Lancaster (date to be announced).

July 27 Summer 2014 Funraizr
A fundraiser benefiting Zoe's House dog rescue and Annie's Miracle Angels Relay for Life team will be held Sunday, July 27, at a private home: 305 Blue Rocks Rd. Lenhartsville, 19534 (Greenwich Township). Summer 2014 Fundraizr will be held from noon to 3 p.m. indoors. There will be vendors of a variety of products, such as Pampered Chef and Avon. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the charities. Representatives of each will be in attendance as well. There is no admission fee. Aug. 2 Pins for Pets Clambake & Bowling
The Animal Rescue League of Berks County will hold a Pins for Pets Clambake and Bowling event Saturday, Aug. 2, from 5 to 10 p.m. at Bowl-O-Rama, 4100 Perkiomen Ave., Reading, PA, 19606 (Exeter Township). The clambake includes mussels, clams, shrimp, corn, potatoes and cole slaw for $20 per person and will be held in the Bowl Grille. Leashed, friendly dogs will be allowed to attend on the deck area. There will be pools there for the dogs to use and live music. The bowling lanes open at 7 p.m. and tickets can be purchased for three hours of unlimited laser bowling for $20 per person.

Aug. 23 Goldens in Paradise Fundraising Concert and Reunion
Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue will hold its annual reunion Saturday, Aug. 23, at Willow Glen Park in Sinking Spring. Jimmy and the Parrots, a Jimmy Buffett tribute band, will be featured. Admission is $35 per person includes barbeque chicken or pasta dinner with sides and non-alcoholic beverages. BYOB is permitted, but no glass containers. Gates open at 3:30. Aug. 24 One by One Cat Rescue Baskets & Bags Bingo
One by One Cat Rescue will hold its annual Baskets & Bags Bingo Sunday, August 24, 2014, at the Leesport Farmers Market, 312 Gernants Church Road, Leesport (just off Route 61). Doors open at noon, games begin at noon and prize will be Longaberger Baskets and Vera Bradley bags and accessories. There will be a Chinese auction and food available for purchase. Sept. 7 Doggie Dash
The Animal Rescue League of Berks County's annual Doggie Dash will be held Sunday, Sept. 7, at the Birdsboro VFW, 321 E. Main St, Birdsboro. A portion of the registration fees will benefit the ARL and participants can enter an optional contest to get sponsors -- all of that money will go the ARL. Entry fee is $20 for one person and one dog. There will be awards in four dog weight classes. Pre-registration deadline is Sept. 1 and guarantees you a T-shirt and your dog a bandanna, plus a goodie bag. Register the day of the event from 7:30 to 9 a.m. and get a goodie bag while they last. The Dash starts at 9 a.m. and the walk will start as soon as the last runner crosses the finish line (approximately 9:25 a.m.) The course circles around 2 miles of the rail trail in Birdsboro and Union Township. Sept. 27 37th Annual Walk for the Animal & Walktoberfest
The Humane Society of Berks County will hold its 37th Annual Walk for the Animal & Walktoberfest Saturday, Sept. 27, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Jim Dietrich Park, 4899 Stoudt’s Ferry Bridge Road Reading, 19605 (Muhlenberg Township). Admission is free, but participants are encouraged to register and obtain sponsors. Those who pre-register by Sept. 6 will be guaranteed a commemorative T-Shirt. Registration is $20 for adults and $10 for kids age 17 or younger. VIP passes are available for $100 per pair and entitle the couple to a special family-friendly VIP buffet and beer garden.
