Oct. 25 Fifth Annual Halloween Barkfest Pet Parade and Costume Party
The Spring Township communities of Spring Ridge and Oak Hill will hold their Fifth Annual Halloween Barkfest Pet Parade and Costume Party Saturday, Oct. 25, on the front lawn of the Spring Ridge Recreation Center from 1 to 3 p.m. The centers is located behind Isaac's Famous Grilled Sandwiches in the Village Square Shopping Center in the township, off Commerce Drive.
There will be prizes for the best, scariest, funniest and most original costumes as well as a best in show award. There will be music and treats for the pets. The judging panel will be from the Wyomissing Animal Hospital in Spring Township.
Prizes will be provided by Tails A‘ Waggin a premier pet groomer in West Lawn. This event is open to the public. All dogs must be well-behaved and leashed at all times.  
Rain date is Sunday October 26, 2014.

The artwork of Nettie Price will be on display at Awesome Dawgs Dog Training LLC, 3052 Pricetown Road, Temple PA 19560 (Alsace Township). Price is a former math and science teacher for the Berks County Prison and Youth Dentention Center and started painting her students in the forms of quirky cats and dogs. Nov. 8 Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue Meet & Greet the Goldens
The Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue will hold its monthly Meet & Greet the Goldens event Saturday, Nov. 8, from 10 a.m. to noon at its Golden Gateway, 60 Vera Cruz Road,
Reinholds, PA 17569. Meet the goldens that are available for adoption. Staff is on hand to answer questions and there is food available for purchase. No photographs are permitted. There is no admission charge.
